Born
in Montana and raised in Wyoming, David
traveled throughout the west in his youner
years, but finally settled down on the Big
Island of Hawaii in 1985, where he was a
partner in afruit tree nursery until 1995.
The one thing missing to true happiness was
a someone to share life. He met his
wife-to-be Linda online in an AOL chat room
in August of 1995; they met in person the
following November.
Yes, this
love was real and consequently he left his
beloved Hawaii in early 1996 for the love of
a native Texan, settled in Sequin. In 2000,
the couple moved to Canyon Lake.
David has
always loved nature in all its splendor and
has been interested in photography since
childhood. It wasn't until 2004, however,
that he began sharing this passion with
others who hopefully will enjoy his
interpretation of the light and colors of
life unfolding in a mere moment of time.
His focus has been on capturing scenes of
Canyon Lake and the surrounding Texas Hill
country where the exploding growth changes
the landscape forever.
"I would
love to help preserve in images the beauty
of a simpler and more relaxed time that is
rapidly vanishing before my eyes," David
says. "I love to live in the rural area
north of Canyon Lake and feel I'm at peace
with the world here. I have been a
horticulturist by trade and a natures' boy
by heart. My photography brings my life's
passions full circle."
Many people
also know David as a resource for their
gardening and horticultural needs as the
garden center manager at Canyon Lake Ace
Hardware in Sattler. He is a popular
speaker with area garden clubs; is
frequently featured at Tye Preston Memorial
Library's Lunch-N-Learn programs and is
often invited to share his expertise with
Comal County Master Gardeners' classes.
