About Us

Pamela Dorfman is the general manager and along with her husband, Barry, is founder of Sattler Artisans’ Alley. Mrs. Dorfman graduated from the University of Texas – Pan American in 1993 with a Magna Cum Laude degree in both Communication-Theatre Arts as well as in English with certification to teach in both fields. Pamela's success as an educator at the high school level as well as the director of many University, Community Theatre and High School theatrical productions makes her an ideal community leader and business owner.

Her husband, Lewis “Barry” Dorfman, will serve as consultant to Pamela. Lewis’s extensive experience in sales and marketing was obtained first through his work with Schinley Liquor , but was realized to a greater degree with eighteen years of manufacturing with GM Corporation then with his ownership of Ketchum Wood Products (an unfinished and finished furniture line of 257 accounts stretching from mainland United States as well as Alaska and Hawaii in which were jobs such as with numerous celebrities and the Los Angeles Unified School District) and Butcher Block Designs of California (which included commercial laminate and hard rock maple surfaces for hotels, bakeries, hospitals and restaurants; including the infamous Hard Rock Cafes all over the world.

Following early retirement (due to illness), Mr. Dorfman could not put down his wood working tools and formed Pine Valley Wood Products as a creative venture. It was this venture that brought him in contact with the Artisan Alley concept as he supplied products for various artists as well as five such stores in the Southern California, Las Vegas and Utah areas.
