Kathy Perales
Kathy Kenagy Perales has been painting since she was a
young child. She studied education and art at Southwest
Texas
For Bachelor of Science in Education and at UTSA for Master
of Arts in Education. She taught 3rd and 4th grade for 23
years and spent the last six years of her education career
teaching art at Mountain Valley Schools, Canyon Lake, Texas;
29 years in all. Since her retirement she has worked on
building a second career of being an artist. She paints in
oil and watercolor, paints on glass and material, teaches
art and art appreciation classes, and tries any project that
seems interesting. Kathy is a member and a past President
of the Canyon Lake Art Guild, a member of the New Braunfels
Art League, San Antonio Art Education Association, Texas Art
Education Association, and the Texas Retired Teachers
Association. She feels that she is blessed to be around
such creative forces.
Kathy says, "The best part of my painting experience is
seeing what the paint wants to do and where the painting
wants to go. It is amazing to me that each time I start
with a plan; very soon it has turned into something else.
God works in mysterious ways! I also love seeing the
expression on the faces of those who like my work. Making
someone smile warms my heart and keeps me painting."
"I think that God gives an artist a unique task to spread
happiness. It gives me a thrill to see someone happy just
from seeing my paintings. I am grateful for the Lord's
blessings."
