All of Our Customers & Local Artisans
January 2008 brought the
promise of exciting creativity at Sattler Artisans' Alley.
We exhibited the very talented Linda and David Jacobson's
art and photography; held a well attended open house
celebrating their awesome work and toasted the new year to
come. Thank you to the CLCC, Sheila and Allen shared
information with our visitors regarding the development of
'The Gorge'. Our online store
www.sartisansalley.com is now operational thanks to
www.Kathleen's-Graphics.com. However, we were to face
new challenges. Due to Barry's health and the need to cut
back on overhead, we needed to close the current edifice
and seek a new storefront.
Our apologies to our customers and vendors for the abrupt
change. We hope to be up and operational again by April at
a new venue to be announced by the end of February. We will
offer the same hospitality and unique products handcrafted
by Canyon Lake artists and craftspeople with a few
more we've adopted along the way.
Classes and academic tutorial services have not stopped.
Rowena Leming is still available for art lessons. She can
be reached at 830-964-3822. For academic tutoring, I
(Pamela Dorfman) can be reached at 830-237-7325. Call me if
you were interested in a particular painting you saw when
shopping at our former location, or perhaps you needed
something made that you had seen at the store. I can link
you with that artist if you will call me at 830-237-7325 and
leave a message. I will get back with you in a prompt
fashion. Need picture framing or a unique mat cut?
Contact Dow's Custom Framing 830-660-4249. David's work is
fastidious and top notch. He uses museum quality matting
and paper and he can work with any decor from "rustic
primitive" to "French Provencial". Several items we
carried may be purchased through our web site. www.sartisansalley.com
Shipping is not a problem thanks to local "Freedom Mail" to
assist us.
Barry and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our
vendors and the Canyon Lake Area community for their
continued support. And, as in all things, we give God
thanks. Because He led us to this location, we have been
blessed abundantly through friendships and contacts as well
as personal development, and we can all use a little growth
in that department.
I want to also bring up a topic that has become abundantly
clear to me. We are in the unique position of helping one
another here in the Canyon Lake Area. Sometimes we forget
how important our neighborhood businesses are and we don't
realize how we take them for granted. These people cannot
continue unless we support them on a daily basis. So when
you are in need of a gift, a card, a guitar lesson, a
tune-up, groceries, or even a good cup of coffee ; whatever
the case may be, shop local! Keep your money recycling in
your own backyard. There is research on how a penny spent
in your own town helps keep a community thriving and if I
can find it.. I'll share that with you, but believe me. It
works!!
Sincerely, Pamela Dorfman
